Dittisham Sailing Club

Dittisham is a small, village club on the River Dart in South Devon, between Totnes and Dartmouth.

The river is open at the village, allowing legs of up to 1 mile long. Tidal streams and counter currents make for interesting sailing conditions.

Sailing is from April to December, with a racing program and training for juniors.
Racing is for any class with a Portsmouth Yardstick. Classes that do well are those of moderate performance such as Solos, Lasers, Enterprises and Merlin Rockets. Our racing fleet is small - typically 10 to 20 boats racing on handicap.
At present we have Lasers, Solos, Ospreys, Merlin Rockets, Scorpions, Graduates, RS 400's and Laser 4000's racing.

Membership is relatively cheap, reflecting the absence of any costly facilities.
Family membership is £18 a year, with boat parking also £18. There is a joining fee of £20. Holiday membership is also available at £5 per week from the village shop.

Our facilties consist of a dinghy park, a boat house with changing/storage facilities and a kettle! We have two rescue boats. Toilets and car parking are available nearby in the Ham car park. There are no showers (except when it rains - quite often!) However, the water is one of the most beautiful estuaries in the country.

Open Meetings - we run class meetings for Lasers, Solos, Toppers and Oppies. There is a regatta on the second Saturday in August, and we participate in the Dartmouth Regatta.
